What I'm Up To...

Laziness is at an all-time high...

I'm by no means a sewing expert, and you certainly won't see me on Project Runway any time soon, but I think it's kind of ridiculous that when I took my favorite pair of jeans to the tailors to get a ripped pocket fixed, they said that they will have to rip the ENTIRE pocket off to fix it because that's the only way they can use their sewing machine. Wtf?!?! Aren't these people supposed to be able to be good with a good old fashioned needle & thread? I'm sure there was a point in history where a minor tear in my pants didn't require major reconstructive denim surgery. Plus, the woman gave me major 'tude after she said I had to pay today and I paid with a credit card. "Don't you have any cash?" Grrrrrr. All I'm saying is that if they mess it up and it doesn't look as natural as she said it would, I'm gonna have a shit fit.

/Rant

In another startling case of absolute laziness in corporate America these days, albeit something quite a bit funnier, I saw this at the mall today:

Yes ladies and gentlemen, that is a mall security guard on a Segway. A f***ing Segway for Christ's Sake!!!! What does he plan on doing if someone, you know, starts walking more than 4 miles an hour and he has to chase them?

I think I like the cute bike helmet the best. Tee hee.

As if a security guard riding a Segway with a bike helmet and walkie-talkie couldn't be any more dorky or lame, the guy was poking at a PDA as he passed me.

Any more blog or podcast recs?

Some drunk idiot tried to pick a fight with me last night over a table at the Jug. Needless to say, I ended up victorious and got the table with no bloodshed. Based on how much fun I had with Cole, Brennan, and Kemper, a fight probably would have been worth it.

Today will be spent hurrying around getting everything ready for Florida tomorrow. 7:15am flight. It's gonna be an early morning...

It's about damn time. These people are the scum of the earth.

Oh, and I got tickets to see Owen and Paper Rival at the Magic Stick in March. Sweeeeet, should be a good tour.

I've recently gotten pretty big into blogs and podcasts, and was curious about what other people out there like. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Any topic is fine.

If drinking a beer at the library from a Wendy's cup through a straw to celebrate finishing chemo is wrong, I don't want to be right.

I recently subscribed to the "Best of Youtube" video podcast on iTunes, and it's pretty neat. Basically it's a wrap-up of popular videos from the site. I think this one is my favorite:

If I end up living in New York, I think it'd be totally rad to join this group and do some of this cool stuff.
I can't believe my last round of chemo is tomorrow. Craaaaaazy. Sorry for the lame post. I'll do a proper update in a few days.

Oh man, this movie is going to be all sorts of awesome:

I went to Borders today to pick up some books for Spring Break and ended up getting Lovely Bones and The Time Traveler's Wife. Both look pretty good. I think Caitlin and I are going to go back in a few days, and there were a couple other things that piqued my interest that I might have to check out as well. I never have time to read during the school year, so it'll be nice to not have anything to do except sit in the sun, read, swim, and play golf. I have too many books on my "To Read" list.

So THAT'S what all the fuss is about

After hearing so many great things about it, I finally stepped up to the plate and tried my hand at Rock Band yesterday. Holy shit, what a fun game, especially for parties or with friends. It definitely brings the awesome, and now I know what all the fuss is about. I tried the drums first and totally got my ass handed to me. I eventually got the hang of it, but even on the medium difficulty, I was still only hitting about 80% of the notes. Oh well. I'll have to keep practicing.

Senioritis is a pain in the ass

12 Days until Spring Break in Florida. Can't wait...

Thanks U of M

Caitlin and I each spent about an hour today doing an online test that measured how our college education has improved our critical thinking skills, we were each given a 50 dollar gift certificate for Borders. Easiest money I've ever made. Booya.

Rebuilding

I just started getting into City & Colour, the acoustic-ish side project of Dallas Green (get it?) from Alexisonfire, and I can't recommend his new album enough. I'll definitely be heading out to pick up a copy of Bring Me Your Love when it comes out Tuesday. Check it out at: http://www.myspace.com/dallasgreen

After almost 2 weeks without a laptop, I'm finally back in business. Unfortunately Apple couldn't fix mine because there was significant damage to more than 4 important components, meaning it was basically totaled and it wasn't economically sound for them to do it. Lame. Anyways, to make a long story short, I had to end up getting a new MacBook to replace mine. It's nice having a new computer, but at the same time, I've spent the entire morning fiddling around with it and getting my documents/pictures/music/movies onto it, which is a pain in the butt.

I saw this mentioned in the Michigan Daily today and searched online for it. Thought it was interesting.

At peace and in pieces

After almost a month without shaving, I finally busted out the razor last night and got rid of my dirty patchy beard, only to have it replaced by an even dirtier mustache. It brings the awesome.
